Applicant Privacy Notice

This notice explains how Goodfellow Support Services Ltd ("we", "us") uses your personal data when you apply for a support worker or cleaner role. It sits alongside our general Privacy Policy and adds detail specific to job applications.

What we collect

• Your name, email address, and phone number
• Whether you have the right to work in the UK (yes/no only)
• Whether you have transport, and your general availability
• A summary of your experience, and your CV
• Records of any vetting checks (status, who checked, and when — never certificate contents or numbers)
• If you're interviewed or hired, notes from that process

Why we collect it

We use this information to assess your application, carry out required vetting checks, and — if successful — to employ you.

AI-assisted screening

We may use AI to help review applications — always advisory, never decision-making, and never considering characteristics protected under the Equality Act 2010. See How We Hire for the full explanation. You're asked to consent to this step separately when you apply.

How long we keep it

• If your application isn't successful, we keep your details for 6 months after our decision, so we can answer any follow-up questions and demonstrate a fair process — unless you tell us you'd like us to keep them for 12 months in case a suitable role comes up, which we only do with your separate consent.
• If you're hired, your application record becomes part of your staff record and is kept for as long as you work with us, plus any period required by law afterwards.

Who we share it with

Your data is stored with our database and email providers, who process it on our behalf under contract. We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else except where the law requires it (for example, right-to-work checks).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us at yourcare@goodfellowsupportservices.co.uk to exercise any of these rights, or to raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you're not satisfied with our response.
